Crossing Guard Services
Carraway is proud to be the primary service provider for the City of Toronto’s School Crossing Guard Program, managing staffing at over 400 intersections. Since the program’s inception in 2019, we have evolved our operations to incorporate technology to better track time, attendance, absenteeism, and nurture elevated performance.
If your municipality is interested in learning more about how we serve the community and increase roadway safety, we’d love to connect.
Crosswalk Safety
Carraway’s Crosswalk Safety Ambassadors (CSAs) undergo criminal background checks and extensive in-class and on-field training which includes; customer service, conflict resolution, traffic safety, and emergency response.
Ensuring your neighbourhood receives a qualified crossing guard is important to us. Our goal is to hire staff who live within the community and to equip them with the tools necessary to succeed. To achieve this, we provide fair compensation, high quality outerwear, and encourage staff to build connections with the community they serve.
Carraway works with its partners to ensure city resources are spent in areas where they are needed most. We consistently review service intersections and provide pedestrian studies as requested.
Smiles
Our teams are hand-picked and thoroughly trained to ensure that every member of the community is treated respectfully and with a friendly smile.
Safety
Our number one priority is to ensure the safe passage of community members across busy thoroughfares in the city.
Service
We are members of your community and are ambassadors in every sense. We deliver professional and reliable service each day at every crossing.
